LIST OF FAV LONG BEACH COFFEE SHOPS

I decided to compile a list of my favorite coffee shops in Long Beach. When you are first exploring a new city it can be daunting to find the right place to enjoy your favorite cup of joe. 
And as crazy as it sounds each coffee shop is a different mood and satisfies a different experience. For example, are you studying? Are you hanging out with a friend? Are you hungry and also want some good food? Looking for breakfast? Are they open late in the afternoon? 

I have a made a list of my favorite places!

Hands down favorite place for breakfast and their coffee is bomb. There is a high chance you will find me here during the weekend!

The real winner and the number one reason I keep coming back to Copa (aka coffee parlor), is the original breakfast burrito. It is so good, between the bacon and the tater tots and the fried soft egg, it is all a killer combo. Not too greasy, but definitely satisfies that craving! It is even boyfriend approved. 

They also have pretty good coffee! Never watered down and they make their vanilla syrup from scratch! It’s so good. No joke probably one of my favorite coffees in LB!

I also love the atmosphere, they have tables outside, a lot of times with umbrellas. It’s one of my favorite places to go during the weekend, you get to enjoy a chill morning crowd. Lots of friends, couples, and parents come hang out here. There are always furry little dog/friends running around and kids. And we’ve noticed that the fire department and police department love to come hang out here too and get their morning burrito fix!

As you probably already noticed from the first photo, one of my favorite places for an iced cup of coffee is Coffee Drunk!

You have to try their instigator! It’s a shaken brown sugar coffees latte served over ice. With some oat milk, it is perfect. It is sweet enough yet their coffee stands out. And trust me their coffee is good. 

Inside it is always pretty chill and quiet. The perfect place to study. They have tables outside all around the restaurant that is also good if you want to chat with a friend! Tables are not big, good for two people catching up! 

They also have amazing pastries 🤤 and they recently just opened a kitchen and they are offering food! I have yet to try their breakfast but I am dying to! 

Closes pretty early tho, so make sure it’s part of your morning!

Great place for an iced vanilla latte and a breakfast burrito! It is up there with one of my favorite breakfast in LB! 

Honestly they have this rose tea latte that is to die for, it is unique and tastes so good! I would return just for that! 

They also have a great selection of organic orange wines and unique IPAS you can purchase! 

They have it all food, coffee, alcohol, and they even sell pants. I mean, what more can you ask for? My heart is happy!

Due to covid it seems like they have to take some of the tables away so people wouldn’t sit inside, not a lot of places to sit and eat/drink. That is the only downside so it’s the perfect place to pick it to go and eat at home for a lazy Sunday. Hopefully once things start opening up again they will have more seating inside!

Golan

The Golan Heights is one of the most beautiful parts of Israel and a very important region to the country. 
<a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golan_Heights">After</a> the Six-Day War broke out in June 1967, Syria's shelling greatly intensified and the IDF captured the Golan Heights on 9-10 of June. The area that came under Israeli control as a result of the war. 
On June 19th, 1967, the Israeli cabinet voted to return the Golan to Syria in exchange for a peace agreement, although this was rejected after the <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khartoum_Resolution">Khartoum Resolution</a> of September 1 1967.
Israel captured the Golan Heights for several reasons, but two in particular stand out: to expand its borders, and to create a buffer zone against Syria.
Why is the Golan also so important? The Golan is thought to provide around one-third of Israel's fresh water supply. Water from the Golan travels to the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River.

Merom Golan is an Israeli settlement and kibbutz in the Western Golan Heights. The kibbutz was established as a settlement after Israel occupied the area in the Six Day War in 1967.
Merom Golan invites anyone to come see the beautiful Golan Heights. They offer Razor/ATV tours, horseback riding, hotels and one of the best meat restaurants you will ever attend, Habokrim!

The next 2 pages will show more of our ride and one of our stops. The Golan is known for its agriculture and grows some of the best crops, luckily we got to pick some right off the bush and eat them! We tried Black Berries, Asian Pears and Apples.

Even Iif you are staying in Tel Aviv, it’s worth driving 2 hours to the north just to eat at Habokrim!

Much needed quick girls trip away from LA to our favorite little town, Ojai. Beautiful drive up PCH with good music and great company. Delicious lunch at Ojai Rotie- incredible Mediterranean cuisine with a great outdoor patio, wine and girlfriends. Followed by more wine in the park and lastly ended up at a wine store for more wine. Only two of us can’t drink so WINE THE HELL NOT?

<h1>Ladurée Beverly Hills</h1>
An entirely Plant Based French Restaurant

Last March, we drove up to LA from San Diego to run the LA Marathon. Since we rarely brave the traffic to go to LA I had asked my husband if we could make a trip to Beverly Hills to eat at Ladurée. Why would I want to do that? Well it is or was at the time the only completely plant based Ladurée location in the world &amp; being vegan it isn’t easy to find good vegan French food, especially croissants &amp; macaroons. After finding them on Instagram I had been dreaming of visiting this incredible restaurant.

We drove in to Beverly Hills after picking up our race packets with no reservations &amp; or any idea that we would need one. We were just hungry &amp; really wanted to get some yummy food. 
So on that note, I will say, we were extremely lucky &amp; got the last table as a walk-in. We waited about 15 mins before being seated watching super yummy dishes being brought out to other diners. 
I would recommend heading over to <a href="https://www.opentable.com/r/laduree-beverly-hills/?category=All">open table</a> to get a reservation if you want to eat at the location. Note: at this time I believe it is only outdoor seating but they are also doing carry out &amp; delivery via delivery services in the Beverly Hills/LA area.

The menu while not huge does have a lot of options &amp; we could have tried everything honestly, but it is an upscale restaurant that isn’t inexpensive. This definitely was a splurge meal for us but looking back now, it was an incredible meal to have as our last in restaurant meal. 
From bottom to top:
Ladurée French Toast - I love French Toast and it’s really hard to find vegan French toast so I jumped on this. Ladurée french toast has raspberries, pistachios, rose flavored coconut whipped cream &amp; raspberry sauce. It was incredibly yummy and the rose &amp; coconut in the whipped cream were incredible mild which was a huge plus (neither of those are my preferred flavors). If this version doesn’t float your boat, they do have 2 other versions of French toast as well, classic &amp; chocolate. 
Ladurée Omelet - Vegan eggs have become a lot more popular in the last year but last year they weren’t as easy to come by especially in a restaurant setting. When we were deciding what to get we thought it would be cool to keep on with Ladurée’s signature dishes &amp; picked this omelet. It is gluten free &amp; made with mushroom, tomato confits, tofu ham &amp; cashew gruyère. This was probably the best omelet I have ever eaten vegan or real egg. It literally melted in your mouth &amp; was so flavorful. It doesn’t look like much on the plate but it did not disappoint!
Lastly was the Ladurée Club, we got this thinking that the other 2 entrees probably wouldn’t be super filling &amp; since we were sharing everything it was a hood idea to get a more filling option. The club came with a side salad &amp; fries in addition to a pretty decent sized sandwich. Made with tofu ham, lettuce, tomato, avocado &amp; rice bacon it was super yummy. I was never a fan of ham before going vegan but the tofu ham was really good as was the rice bacon. As a fry addict I can tell you that these were really yummy fries &amp; the salad was nicely &amp; flavorfully dressed. 
Overall we really enjoyed our meal. But it wasn’t over yet!

We had to get dessert! I mean how could you come to a fancy French restaurant &amp; not get dessert lol. 
We chose the Tartelette Passion Framboise with passion fruit cream, fresh raspberry &amp; a sweet dough crust. It was incredible a super yummy flavor, the passion fruit &amp; raspberries were a great combination. 
Looking back I wish we had tried a different pastry for photo sake because we had 2 raspberry dishes but this was incredible!

Last on the list was getting macarons to go!
We got a mix of different flavors, vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel and lemon, to take back to my sister in laws place &amp; then cut them all up to share.

They have a few other flavors, raspberry, rose &amp; hemp but we didn’t get those instead getting a few extra of our fav, passion fruit. 
If you are looking for a great &amp; a little fancier plant based restaurant for your next visit to LA, look no further!

<h1>Arbol Restaurant, Las Ventanas Resort, Los Cabos</h1>
On our recent trip to Cabo during Valentines/President’s Day Weekend we had dinner at the famous Arbol restaurant in the Las Ventanas Resort. Arbol was highly recommended by friends and family, let me say that this place did not disappoint!
The atmosphere, drink selection, and food was incredible. I suggest making a reservation in advance, make sure to request outdoor seating as the views of the trees surrounding the restaurant is truly breathtaking.

<h1>Wine prices are dropping</h1>
<h2>To the lowest they’ve been in twenty years</h2>

Vineyards in Northern California began planting thousands of acres of new vines in 2016, and with more efficient harvesting methods, it has led to more bountiful harvests of grapes.
This sounds like a good thing, but too many unused grapes means a lot of waste. As a result, the good old laws of supply and demand have lowered the price of wine due to the newly increased supply of grapes. 
What’s more is that it’s not just supply that has increased; demand for wine has also decreased. Following a shift in habits of many Americans from drinking wine to other forms of alcohol such as liquor, beer, and most recently hard seltzer products like White Claw, the demand for wine has reached record lows. 
This is good news for those of us who still love wine. The price to value ratio has never been this good. 
Analysts say these new price points should last for at least three years.

<h1>Today is National Drink Wine Day</h1>
National Drink Wine Day falls on February 18, but it is far from the only holiday that celebrates wine. Firstly, National Wine Day is on May 25, but for those who are looking for a more specific wine holiday, National Rosé Wine Day is on June 13, National White Wine Day is on August 4, and National Red Wine Day is on August 28. And if these aren't enough wine-based holidays to look forward to throughout the year, National Cheese and Wine Day is on July 25.

Right in the heart of LA on Melrose Avenue, Crossroad Kitchen is one of the best tasting Vegan restaurants in the country, maybe THE best. Every dish impresses you even more than the previous one.
