Portugal

A country saturated with an endless coastline of white sandy beaches and rugged coastlines. A city with an extreme attention to architectural detail with a complimenting booming restaurant scene. Portugal is an all in one country for coastline advocates and wine enthusiasts (like myself).

  • This is the first part of my Portugal Travel guide. In this part you will find all the places I visited and photographer on the coast between Lisbon and Ericeira. I will also include links to the places I stayed at and my favorite restaurants 🥙☕️
  • Shoutout to Parker for helping me put together this guide & proving some of his lovely images 🍯

    Praia da Ursa

About an 50 minutes from Ericeira, or 35 minute drive from Lisbon is a beach which makes you feel as though you’re on another planet. Praia da Ursa.

Even though I had visited this beach only a year ago, it still holds up, creating a beautiful palette of sunset to blue hour tones. This is the spot I had grabbed one of my favorite photos and had felt like a child again running around it’s spire filled shores.

I would recommend to visit the beach for sunset although it can get pretty crowded, there are plenty of angles and hidden coves to explore.

    Praia de São Julião

I had been caught in awe with the jagged cliff sides, moody fog and determined fisherman sprinkled across it’s shoreline.

I visited this beach for a early sunrise mission and for a late afternoon walk in the golden light. Both options were stunning, although sunset is the better option for golden light. Depending on the tide you can walk for miles down the coast, just make sure to not get stuck between the cliffs when the tides come in.

    Sintra-Cascais National Park

This location is perfect if you want to leave the beach towls at home and chase some moodier vibes. In Sintra everyone will tell you to visit the Sintra castle, which is beautiful but for an outdoor lover like myself the moody forest was very high on my hit list.

The road you should take is called “Estudante da Peninha”

    Ericeira

On my visit, I stayed at Ericeria’s good vibe headquarters, LaPoint Surf Camp . A beautiful infrastructure that functions as a surf hostel. We took on a day after day surf bootcamp with some phenomenal instructors.

After each session, the whole crew would rally back from the beach to the camp. Running to the open spaced common area to enjoy endless bowls of acai and midday yoga.

    Hungry?

Ericeira, and its laid-back charm, offers a lot in terme of food and culture. These are my favorite restaurants/cafes:

    Soul Dough

Probably the best Pizza I had, the restaurant is owened by italians who moved to Portugal.

    Sunset Bamboo

Great Burritos, Juices and Coffee 😋 It is located in the heart of the Ericeira’s center.

    Red Chilli

The Interior might not be the fanciest but they sure know how to cook mouth-watering indian food. 🍲

    Let’s get cozy!

These are the places I stayed in during my stay.

    Lapoint Surf Camp

A old vinery converted into a hostel. Surf, skatepark, pool, view of the ocean, great food and cozy rooms.

    Apartment in Ericeira

This apartment was located right next to the Sao Sebastiao beach. It is a small and cozy, one bedroom apartment with everything you need.

    Sintra Airbnb

This was one of the more quiet locations I stayed at and I loved every second of it. The studio apartment was small but it had a beautiful garden, a pool and the owner had two dogs ☺️🐶
