The town itself is amazing with its surfer vibes you’ll often see people driving golf carts around the streets instead of cars.</p>

<p>Visit paradise falls, a hidden gem located near Calabasas. This hiking trail leads you to an incredible water fall where people go to have picnics or go for a swim in the lake!</p>

<h1>How do AHAs work?</h1>
<p>AHAs work as a chemical exfoliant that peel dead skin cells off the surface layer of your skin to reveal fresh new skin cells underneath. The extent to which it removes dead skin cells depends on the type of AHA, PH level, concentration, and other ingredients it may be applied with. In addition to exfoliation, research claims they help to:</p>

<h1>How do BHAs work?</h1>
<p>BHAs are similar to AHAs in that they are both chemical exfoliants. However, instead of just dissolving the dead skin cells off the surface layer of the skin, BHAs work deeper inside the pores to improve cell turnover.</p>
<p>BHAs are commonly referred to as “salicylic acid” because this is the main BHA found in most products. Other BHA exfoliants seen in skin care products may be listed as:</p>

    <li>Betaine salicylate</li>
  </ul>
</p>
<p>
  <ul>
    <li>Beta hydroxybutanoic acid</li>
  </ul>
</p>

<p>Both BHAs and AHAs offer similar benefits such as improving skin tone, brightening, smoothing and so on. But since BHAs are oil-soluble, they penetrate through any oils on the skin to unclog and cleanse pores from the inside. This prevents the build-up of oil and dead skin that causes breakouts. Therefore dermatologists and specialists more often recommend BHAs for people with oily and acne-prone skin. BHAs are also less irritating than AHAs because of their larger molecule size and anti-inflammatory properties.</p>

<p>To quickly compare, the main differences between AHAs and BHAs:</p>
<p>
  <ul>
    <li>AHAs are water-soluble and BHAs are oil-soluble. This means BHAs are able to dissolve in oils where AHAs can only dissolve in water.</li>
  </ul>
</p>
<p>
  <ul>
    <li>AHAs are more appropriate for dry skin and BHAs are great for oily skin because BHAs have the ability to reduce excess oil.</li>
  </ul>
</p>
<p>
  <ul>
    <li>AHAs only work on the surface layer of skin while BHAs penetrate deeper into pores.</li>
  </ul>
</p>
<p>
  <ul>
    <li>BHAs can be less irritating than AHAs.</li>
  </ul>
</p>
<p>All thats left to do is choose the right exfoliant for your skin! Feel free to experiment with both AHAs and BHAs to find what products are right for you. Whether you are looking to fix a skin concern or improve the overall health and appearance of your skin, both exfoliants may be beneficial.</p>

<p>What better way to experience the lush jungle life of Tulum then actually living in the jungle! Nativus is an incredible Glamping site situated in the Mayan town of Tulum, Mexico. If your not familiar with the term glamping, it refers to luxurious camping, basically camping outdoors but with all the luxuries of a hotel such as air conditioning, bathrooms &amp; showers. It’s the perfect way to really get a feel for the culture and wildlife that makes up Tulum. </p>

<p>Nativus is a small private resort with its very own cenote, offering paddle boarding, canoeing, and biking activities. It’s a breath of fresh air for those who love the outdoors and want a relaxing natural getaway.</p>

<p>Tulum is packed with lots of hotel options. Pick from your choice of luxurious hotels or private villas. Pictured above is the villa I stayed at, which is located only 20 minutes from the town of Tulum and has its very own pool and private beach! </p>

<p>One of my favorite and most unique resorts in Tulum is the famous Azulik resort. This unique resort is built like a massive luxury treehouse! I promise you won’t find anything like this anywhere else. It is absolutely breathtaking. </p>
<h2>Zorba</h2>
<p>Zorba is another amazing private villa along the strip in Tulum. It’s a beautiful place to stay with an open kitchen and living area. It has its own private beach with restaurant service so you can literally order food and drinks from the beach!</p>

<p>Tulum is full of exciting attractions and things to do during the day! This beautiful art piece stands at the entrance of Ahau, a beach club and resort. A popular photo op for bloggers and visitors worldwide!</p>

<h2>Visit a cenote</h2>
<p>Mexico is known for having some incredible cenotes to visit and go snorkeling or scuba diving. Stop by Gran cenote, Cenote dos ojos, or Cenote cavalera and go snorkeling through the caves! </p>

<h2>Street Tacos</h2>
<p>If your looking for some authentic tacos you have to hit up Tulum Food Trucks! It’s a cute little area with about five food trucks with all different types of food from pizza to empanadas and more. The taco truck was my favorite! They have the most delicious tacos and guacamole for an affordable price.</p>

<h2>Papaya Playa</h2>
<p>Papaya Playa has an amazing lunch with a view seated right on the beach! It’s perfect to spend the day eating and drinking with friends. I highly recommend the passion fruit mezcal or mango margarita. I ordered vegan lentil meatballs with chips and guac And... WOW. Everything was amazing.</p>
<h2>Raw Love Cafe</h2>
<p>Raw love cafe is another cute daytime spot on the beach with vegan food! The food is so fresh and tasty, literally every vegan’s dream. </p>
<h2>Rosa Negra</h2>
<p>If your looking for an exciting dinner experience, hit up Rosa Negra. This spot is always a riot with delicious seafood and fun drinks. The energy here is crazy, after dinner the whole restaurant turns into a big party. They bring out sparklers and turn up the music for everyone to dance. We ended up going here twice because we loved it so much! </p>
<h2>Casa Jaguar</h2>
<p>Casa Jaguar is a more calm dinner spot with incredible food (I highly recommend the octopus). This restaurant is more of a jungle vibe, with exotic music and a beautiful outdoor bar. </p>
<h2>Beach Clubs</h2>
<p>Akiin beach club, Ahau, Azulik, Coco Tulum, and Papaya Playa (as I mentioned earlier), are all amazing beach clubs to visit and grab a bite - better yet grab a few drinks! The day parties are absolutely amazing, I mean what better feeling then being drunk on a beautiful beach with your best friends?!</p>

<h1>Relax and unwind</h1>
<h2>Azulik spa</h2>
<p>After a long day of exploring, a spa treatment at Azulik is a must! I recommend the ritual treatment which consists of a body scrub, body wrap, and massage. Hands down it was one of the best spa treatments I’ve ever received. It is a unique experience you can only get in Tulum that leaves you feeling refreshed and renewed.</p>

<h1>Mayan Ruins</h1>
<h2>Chichen itza</h2>
<p>Pictured above is Chichen Itza, a massive pyramid that was used around 600 A.D. to the 1200s. This relic was built by the Maya people and still stands today as a piece of history that represents Tulum. I definitely suggest you go on the full guided tour of Chichen Itza during your stay in Mexico. They teach you all about the history, astrology, and creation of Tulum. There is so much to learn it is mind blowing! After the tour is over they even allow you to explore the grounds on your own. </p>
<h2>Ek Balam &amp; Coba</h2>
<p>Ek Balam and Coba are two different archaeological sites of Mexico. They are ancient Mayan ruins that you are actually allowed to climb! These are so fun if your more of an adventurer, you will feel like Indiana Jones climbing these incredible pyramids.</p>

<p>One thing I’ll say about Tulum is that they know how to party! The clubs and bars pop off like crazy at night and there’s always an amazing crowd. Most parties are on the beach and the vibe is always unreal. Most of the daytime beach clubs I mentioned before are the same clubs that turn up at night. </p>

<p>If you love to party like I do, I recommend going during the month of January when all the huge festivals take place. Specifically during the second week of January they have parties such as Afterlife, Day Zero, Woomoon Festival. I go to a lot of festivals and these were some of the best festivals I’ve ever gone to in my life. It’s a one of a kind experience that you honestly can’t get anywhere else. Most of the festivals go until sunrise and even into the next day. Each festival is a totally different experience, some of which are located in the jungle near cenotes and along the beaches. </p>
